I don't have any photos right now because my camera wasn't cooperating, but I can tell you that New York cupcakery Butter Lane, which has a pop-up shop at 436 West Broadway at Prince Street this month only as well as their 123 East 7th Street East Village location, has some festive flavors, including pumpkin (yum!), apple spice and chocolate mint. I stopped by Wednesday night and got to sample each flavor - one of the best things, next to their all organic ingredients and delicious cakes (in vanilla, chocolate and banana) is that they make your cupcake for you so you can mix and match frosting and cake and it's totally fresh.
Jamil, who was working the counter along with cupcake tattoo-sporting Chockie Tom, said pumpkin is his favorite. It was very good and I recommend pairing it with their banana cake. The chocolate mint was good but a little too strong for me. They also sell frosting shots and a woman got a scoop of what I think was raspberry that looked just like a scoop of ice cream. It's a pretty intense mouthful of frosting and well worth the $1 it costs but I like their cake too much to miss out. They now also have discounts; individual cupcakes are $3 but I bought 4 and they were $11. Photos coming soon!
