The Des Moines Register has the scoop on Jennycakes, a custom cupcake company that just opened shop (sounds like it's for the holiday season):
Jennycakes is a temporary shop that has opened at 5515 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, in the West Glen Town Center. The store features cupcakes in a variety of flavors in mini and regular sizes.
Jenny Seese bakes the goodies in her Urbandale kitchen and takes them to the shop. She also accepts custom orders.
Flavor selections vary daily and include chocolate peanut butter cup(cakes), red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, and "24 carrot gold" carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. For the holidays, she also has candy cane, gingerbread and eggnog cupcakes.
Click here to see all her flavors, which also include pumpkin pie, banana cream pie, French toast (maple cake with bits of real bacon topped with cinnamon-maple cream cheese and bacon crumbles) and pink champagne (pink champagne cake with champagne custard filling topped with pink champagne buttercream).
