Cupcake crawl photos from San Francisco Bay Area

The bloggers over at Absolutely Charmed recently went on a cupcake crawl (cupcake bakery tour) of the San Francisco Bay Area. Even though I visit there often, I have not actually been to any of these five bakeries (Noe Valley Bakery, That Takes the Cake, American Cupcake, Cups and Cakes Bakery and Icing on the Cake), so I was especially interested in their takes. Thanks for letting us reprint these photos and check their blog for cupcake reviews and more photos.

These cupcakes look awesome, but I have to ask...Why was it the best PB cupcake you've had!?

This is a total aside but, FYI, there's a new reality show on TV on the W Network (Canadian viewers) called The Cupcake Girls based on the owners of Cupcakes.

TV show site: http://www.wnetwork.com/Shows/TheCupcakeGirls.aspx
Cupcakes site: http://www.cupcakesonline.com/

When I used to live in Vancouver I was addicted to their lemon drop cupcake.

@Deb, these were the best PB cupcakes ever because the chocolate cake was perfectly moist and fluffy and the peanut butter frosting tasted like peanut butter icecream. Sometimes bakeries make the flavors too strong or too sweet, but the mix of flavors was perfect on this one. The Reeses Pieces Cup on top was the perfect touch of completion.

Thanks to Cupcakes Takes the Cake for this feature, cheers to you, from one cupcake fanatic to another!

The Chocolate PB Cupcake looks delicious! A simple but eloquent design.
