Our most recent monthly cupcake meetup was held on the rooftop of The Delancey, a perfect environment to mix and mingle over cupcakes. Palm trees, reclining chairs and park benches filled the space with a casual, outdoor feeling. Meanwhile, the covered rooftop protected us from the drizzle, somehow typical of a New York summer day.
The primarily supply of cupcakes were gotten from a local bakery, Sugar Sweet Sunshine.
The cupcakes have cute names, such as the "Sunshine" (yellow cake- vanilla buttercream), "Ooey Gooey" (chocolate cake- chocolate almond buttercream), and "Black & White...Just Right" (chocolate cake - vanilla buttercream). We also had their other popular flavors, Carrot cake and Pistachio.
Personal caterer and pastry chef Christine Tossini of Sweet & Salty Catering brought mini vanilla and coconut cupcakes. Rachel arrived with Cupcakeland cupcakes, but hungry mouths were faster than my camera.
As the weather gets slightly tamer in New York, we're excited to start bringing more of our cupcake events outdoors. If you already are, or plan to be, in NYC, come join our monthly cupcake meetups. Our next one will be the Cupcake Picnic at Central Park on June 12th.
