Gluten-free cupcakes at Miglet's Gluten Free Bakery, Danville, California

Miglet's Gluten Free Bakery just opened this week in Danville, California, part of a growing trend of bakeries going exclusively gluten-free (see Tu-Lu's Gluten-Free Bakery in New York City). The photos below are from their Facebook page and you can also follow them @migletsgf on Twitter. Their website lists Walnut Creek and Yelp lists Diablo, California, presumably from their custom catering work prior to opening a brick and mortar bakery. I think it's great that word about gluten-free products is spreading to the point that they can sustain entire businesses. I have several cousins who are gluten-free and friends who simply feel better when not eating gluten. Plus they are featuring local artists which is a great way for bakeries to tap into their local community; Trophy Cupcakes in Seattle and Sugar Sweet Sunshine in New York, off the top of my head, also feature and sell work by local artists.
