Reese’s peanut butter cup in the middle of a cupcake? Yes, please!

I love that blogger Something Shiny titled her post “Dangerously Decadent Cupcakes” because “I had to come up with a shorter name for these cupcakes because "Dark Chocolate Cupcakes with Dark Chocolate Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Center and Peanut Butter Frosting Dipped in Homemade Magic Shell" is technically correct but WAAAAY too long, don't you think?”

Whatever you call them, they look quite amazing. Visit Something Shiny for step-by-step photos, instructions and 3 recipes (for the cupcakes, the frosting and the homemade Magic Shell!).

There must be something in the air ~ fellow cupcake aficionados have Reese's on the brain for the month of August! I was really inspired by Cookies and Cups version of a cupcake cone featuring the classic candy baked into a brownie, baked into an ice-cream-cone (http://cookiesandcups.blogspot.com/2010/07/more-ice-cream-fake-outs-and-fun.html). It inspired me to incorporate the combo into my unique creation, the "CAKE-OUT" (http://rookno17.blogspot.com/2010/08/cupcake-take-outits-cake-out.html). I think it's simply wonderful that the confectionerily-minded are all on the same wavelength ~ our own little cosmic connection of peanut-buttery, chocolatey goodness!

Thank you so much for featuring my cupcakes! What a nice surprise. The cupcakes ARE as good as they look and SO rich. My oldest niece has already asked to have these as her birthday treat for school. :)
