Via Modern Domestic comes news about this DC State Fair Cupcake Contest. Click to enter, here are the details:
Welcome to the DC State Fair! Please fill out the information below to enter the Cupcake Contest. Entry forms must be received by Wednesday, August 25th, for your entry to qualify. Cupcake Contest submissions must be brought to the DC State Fair tent on August 28th between 11am and noon. The DC State Fair, concurrent with Columbia Heights Day, will be held at Tubman Elementary Field (11th and Irving Streets NW). You must bring six identical cupcakes for your one entry. They must contain no raw eggs or other products that would spoil in the heat. Cupcakes must be baked in a home kitchen. Cupcakes will be judged on taste and appearance. But mostly on taste! Up to 2 entries per person, if you want to enter two different types of cupcake. If entering twice, please fill out form twice.
One of the prizes is mini cupcakes from Treet. Here are a few of theirs (descriptions from their site, click to see other flavors):

Arnie P (Arnold Palmer) cupcake: Light and fluffy vanilla cake, filled with homemade fresh lemon curd, and topped with green tea butter cream...it's a hole in one of a mini cupcake!

Mini Chocolate Caramelicious Cupcake (Gluten Free): Milk Chocolate cake made with organic brown rice flour and almond flour, infused with rich homemade caramel and dressed with caramel buttercream...it may be gluten free but it's delicious secret is safe with us!

Marvelous Mocha cupcake: Bursts of melted dark chocolate amidst a rich mocha cake, with velvety smooth mocha buttercream topped with the perfect perk...a dark chocolate espresso bean bark by local artisanal chocolatier, Krishon Chocolates!
