Capital CupcakeCamp 2.0
Sept. 26, 2010 at City Hall
Bakers arrive at 11:30 am; Doors open to tasters at 1pm
After last years fun and massive sugar rush - we’ve decided to do it all again. This time: with a larger venue, more cupcakes and people. The Capital CupcakeCamp team listened to all the baker feedback from last year and lessons learned from CupcakeCamps in other cities. Here is what we’ve come up with for this year:
First, we have a PRO Category this year; if you make money from your creative food creations (cupcakes or otherwise) we ask that you register as a PRO - the really neat part here; the PRO winners have the right to use the “2010 Winner” logo; non-pro bakers who want to test their stuff against chefs may also enter this category!
Second, all the bakers will be placed around the room WITH their creations - bakers are asked to bring only 24 cupcakes of one flavour - and tasters will roam around the City Hall atrium and trade in their four tickets (provided at the door in exchange for the ticket emailed to you) for four amazing cupcakes. Each cupcake baker will also have the chance to speak to the crowd (if the want to!) and have their cupcakes judged by well-known Ottawa chefs and media personalities (again, only if you want to!)
This years proceeds will be donated to: The Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and the City of Ottawa program Women Alive
And, we are announcing the cupcake categories RIGHT NOW!
