Cupcakes for a Cause® Week for CancerCare for Kids® officially starts today! Click here to find a local participating bakery.
Bakeries and cupcake companies, this is an open thread because there's no way we can cover all the wonderful charity specials you're doing - if you are running a special promotion, feel free to briefly (1-2 sentences) describe what you're selling, where you're located and add a link. (If you have specially decorated cupcakes, send jpegs plus all details - price, flavor(s), address, URL to cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com with "Cupcakes for a Cause" in the subject line and we will be posting selected ones throughout the week.) Please note that all Cupcakes Take the Cake comments are moderated so it may take us up to 24 hours to process your comment; do not post more than once.

Children and teens who are affected by cancer have needs and concerns that are different than adults. That's why CancerCare has a program called CancerCare for Kids®. It's all part of the free, professional services CancerCare provides to kids and families facing cancer.
CancerCare for Kids is a very distinct program that focuses on a child coping with a cancer diagnosis, either that of a close loved one or his or her own. We know from our clinical experience and research that help for children coping with cancer makes a big difference. CancerCare's professionally trained social workers offer counseling, support groups, and recreational programs to children and their parents to help them manage this difficult situation and to feel less alone.
