Yesterday we told you about broccoli cupcakes, and today comes news of Caeser salad cupcakes out of Houston! From the Houston Press food blog Eat My Words:
"We worked on these for two days straight," laughed Jody Stevens as she proudly displayed a cupcake garnished with a romaine lettuce leaf. Stevens and her partner, fellow pastry chef Rebecca Masson, were in inhospitable waters on Friday night as they competed against over a dozen savory chefs in the 26th Annual Caesar Salad Competition.

Jody Stevens is the owner of cake and cupcake company Jodycakes - click here to see photos of some of their sweet cupcakes.
Again, something I never thought I'd see in cupcake form. Now, I prefer and think of cupcakes as a sweet, dessert item, but I have nothing against savory cupcakes or mixing things up once in a while, especially when you're eating cupcake after cupcake. What do you think about savory cupcakes like these? Are they fun or do they go too far in the savory direction?
