Cupcakes in Chinatown at New York's Everything Frosted

I'd like to think I have my ears/eyes/mouth on the pulse of what's happening in the world of cupcakes, but Everything Frosted in Chinatown here in New York is news to me. Literally - I just read about it in The New York Times, where Florence Fabricant writes:

If Michelin rated cupcake stores, Everything Frosted might qualify for an “exceptional, worth a special journey” for lovers of flavors like green tea, jasmine, red bean and black sesame...

The owner, John Wu (above), is a chef who worked with Bill Yosses, the White House pastry chef, when Mr. Yosses was at Citarella and at Joseph in Rockefeller Center. His fine-grained cakes are moist but with enough texture to make them satisfying, not just vehicles for frosting. The Asian flavors are delicate, and more commonplace chocolate, red velvet and vanilla have depth. The pastel butter creams are light. Not everything is frosted: green-tea cheesecakes, grassy in color, are barely sweet, almost qualifying as a savory, to unmold and serve as an unusual cheese course.
