RECAP: NYC Cupcake Business Class with Allison Robicelli

Cupcake Business Class

Tonight we held another one of our reoccurring cupcake business classes at New Work City's new TriBeCa location. Cupcakes Take the Cake co-founders Nichelle Stephens and Rachel Kramer Bussel led the class on branding, social media, and promotion, while Melissa Zhang added tips about food publicity. Small business attorney Michelle Dobrawsky was helpful in giving advice about sorting through the issues of trademark, trade dress, copyrights, and intellectual property. We were joined by Allison Robicelli of Robicelli's, who had much to say about being on both the retail and wholesale sides of the food industry.

Janelle Craft of Sweet Vintage Baking Co. brought Peanut Butter Cupcakes (pictured below), Red Velvet cupcakes, and Hazelnut Chocolate cupcakes for the class, and won a copy of Become Your Own Boss In 12 Months by Melinda Emerson.

Check out our calendar of events for upcoming cupcake events, including future Cupcake Business Classes. The classes last about 3 hours, and attendees are welcome to bring cupcakes and questions. Hope to meet more budding cupcake entrepreneurs at our next one (tentatively in January 2011)!
