Next up in my northern California cupcakery reviews is Naseem Delan of 4EverSweet, who was kind enough to meet me (and guest-taster Steph) at our hotel (shoutout to the Clift!).

Steph and Naseem at the Clift.

Naseem!
Naseem has a catering business (in a San Jose commercial kitchen) and delivers her yummy treats in and around the Los Altos Hills area, which I believe is about 30 or 40 minutes from San Francisco. Popular favorites include her specialty cupcake, a rose-water-and-cardamom-infused cupcake with rose water whipped cream, as well as a tiramisu cupcake, and the always-popular red velvet!

Steph and I sampled the delicious rose water and cardamom cupcakes and a cinnamon-date with date cream cheese frosting (with toasted sesame seeds on top).
Naseem's flavor inspirations come from her Persian (Iranian, if I remember correctly) family, and I admit I don't often get to taste rose water cupcakes. They were delicious. Light and airy with a lovely light whipped topping, Perfect for breakfast. Not too sweet either, which is very much appreciated by this reviewer.

Naseem's young (22, I think) and just starting out so I can't fault her for not making her own toppers, but I would have much rather had a homemade one than these commercially available ones, that bled after a couple of hours.

I preferred the rose water to the date-cinnamon cupcakes, but that's probably because I am not a huge date fan. I thought the rose water ones were subtle and date ones were exotic.

Both Steph and an unsolicited taster (our concierge) mentioned that these cinnamon date cupcakes had a bit of an aftertaste. I think it's probably the date, but again, I am biased. They were also airy and feathery and light, with good crumb and not too much sweetness. Good frosting to cake ratio.

Cupcakes on the windowsill.
Naseem also sells cupcake jewelry and cupcake-related apparel and accessories (perhaps more inventory is on its way?).
4EverSweet's cupcakes are approximately $3.00 each, minis available upon request. Custom orders and seasonal flavors also available.
