CupcakeCamp Montreal November 21st details and guest post

Updated

This guest post is by CupcakeCamp Montreal volunteer Paige McEachren of Simply Sweet Creations - this event is November 21st from 1-5 pm, and is a followup to last year's CupcakeCamp Montreal. We are now at a point where local CupcakeCamps are building on their traditions, and raising some serious money for charity. As always, if you want to know more about what CupcakeCamp is and how to organize your own, visit www.cupcakecamp.org.

Visit the official site and Facebook page to learn more. She tells us that they're already at over 11,000 cupcakes! (Side note: if any reader would like to cover the event for us, please email cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com - we can't pay, but can credit/link to you.)

And I wanted to make sure to link to the two charities this is benefiting:

Cupcake Camp Montreal - 21 NOV 2010

Calling all Montreal Cupcake Lovers

Where can you find 10,000 cupcakes to choose from? Cupcake Camp Montreal - happening November 21st from 1-5 p.m at Centre Mont-Royal. After the huge success of it’s first year, Cupcake Camp Montreal is back & bigger than 2009. With a new logo & new venue, it continues to grow, going from 3,500 cupcakes in 2009 to 10,000 and from 700 attendees to an expected 2,000.

Everyone is encouraged to check it out; a suggested donation of $10 gets you 3 cupcakes and a gourmet coffee. No worries if you’re like me and want to try more than 3 cupcakes – you can take home more for a small donation. All proceeds go to help Kids Help Phone which offers youth counselling services and La Tablée des Chefs, a non-profit group which among other things supports Quebec food banks and redistributes culinary surplus from major events.

If you like to bake (amateur or professional) you can donate cupcakes and enter the competitions (fill out the form on Cupcake Camp Montreal site). The categories for amateur & professional include best taste, design, Montreal theme & failcake (we’ve all had cupcakes turn out bad... now you can win a prize for them!). On top of the awesome celebrity judging panel, this year’s Cupcake Camp Montreal is getting the public involved, both the attendees at the event and those sitting at home watching the live streaming can vote for their favourite cupcake!

This year there will be lots of activities for kids too, including a cupcake competition for kids of all ages with an awesome $3,000 prize of a movie in the park in your own yard!

Mark Nov 21st on your calendar as the day of 10,000 cupcakes. All Cupcake addicts should check out Montreal’s biggest charity bake sale. If your not in Montreal, check out the live stream of 10,000 cupcakes!

Full details are available on Cupcake Camp Montreal site.
