Cupcakes for Haiti, the cookbook launch is an unconventional and fun twist on a book launch because a whole block of stores are supporting the event. From Voulez-Vous Café 1560 Queen St. E. To Beaufort Décor, 1576 Queen St. E.. The cost of the cookbook is $20, and 100% of funds raised goes to MSF Canada and FINCA Canada.

From Thestar.com:

It includes about 30 cupcake recipes — Lemon Love, Dark Chocolate Bailey’s, Devilish Berry, Gourmet Jelly Belly — from January’s bakers, as well as contributions from well-known baker Dufflet Rosenberg (the Devil’s Espresso cupcake) and chef Lynn Crawford (Ruby Watchco’s Red Velvet cupcake).

The book sells for $20, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders and FINCA Canada, a microfinance group, for use in Haiti. Those two organizations also received the funds raised by the bake sale.

At the book launch on Saturday in Leslieville (from 2 to 4 p.m. at Beaufort Décor, 1576 Queen St. E.), Molinolo will encourage people to stroll down the block to Voulez-Vous Café, where many of the cupcakes will be for sale, with a percentage of sales also going to the charities.
