Cupcake push pops (!!) plus banana nutella, Italian cream and Saint Arnold Stout chocolate by Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique in Houston
People who don't read this blog or are just hearing about it often ask me some variation of, "How much can you say about cupcakes?" I say, firstly, that a picture is worth a thousand words, and secondly, that there is so much to say and taste and see about cupcakes that even if we were all blogging 24/7 we couldn't keep up. I love the way the form and flavor and idea of what a cupcake is is constantly being reinvented. There are mini cupcakes, square cupcakes, cupcake pops, cupcakes on a stick, cupcake towers, pupcakes, etc.
So it shouldn't surprise me, but it did, to see cupcake push pops! These are by Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique in Houston, Texas, from their Flickr account, where they describe them as: "Layers of cake and frosting in a handy, easy to eat, no mess push-pop container. Shown here in chocolate cake with your choice of vanilla or strawberry buttercream."
I feel like there are some flavor combinations that just go together extremely well, for me, anyway. Yes, a lot of them involve chocolate. Banana and Nutella are one of them (peanut butter and almost anything is another). So I'm digging these banana Nutella cupcakes by Sugarbaby's via Flickr). They are "Banana sour cream cake made with fresh bananas and topped with Nutella cream cheese frosting and toasted hazelnuts."
If that's not your thing (or even if it is), here are two others from Sugarbaby's via their Flickr account:
Italian cream cupcake: "Traditional Italian cream cake with vanilla cream cheese filling and cream cheese frosting."
Saint Arnold Stout Chocolate cupcake: "Moist dark chocolate cake infused with Houston's own Saint Arnold Winter Stout and topped with whipped chocolate ganache."
I love that there's a bottle cap on top of some of these!
