Cupcakes with Buddy (plus a great giveaway)!

Cupcakes Take the Cake is happy to be cosponsoring this awesome event with the Anita Kaufmann Foundation and Carlo's Bake Shop's Buddy Valastro (among many others) to raise awareness about epilepsy and seizure disorders.

Epilepsy affects more than three million Americans and fifty million people worldwide. That’s one out of every hundred people! Yet many people living with epilepsy still face barriers due to a lack of awareness about the condition. Debra Josephs, executive director of the Anita Kaufmann Foundation is throwing a charity event titled "Cupcakes with Buddy" and it's hosted by the boss of all cakes himself.

Aside from tasting some of Carlo's Bakery's delicious cakes and cupcakes, there will be thirteen local NJ cupcakeries and bakeries (listed below) who will be presenting purple cupcakes and minicupcakes to sample. Plus there will be Starbucks coffee and Fairway's ice-cold milk, as well as plenty of goodies to keep you happy and busy. Oh, and a silent auction with fantastic prizes (like spa gifts! and more yummy sweets). And you'll be helping out a wonderful cause, educating the public not to fear seizures. The location is the swank W Hotel in Hoboken.

Tickets to the event are $50 in advance and $75 (cash only) at the door, and can be purchased here. You can also purchase a $30 signed copy of Buddy's new book, Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia.

Don't forget to wear some purple to show your support. (I'm planning on sporting my new purple sparkly scarf.)

CTTC is giving away two $50 tickets to this event, but we ask that you only enter if you are in the Hoboken, New Jersey area or can easily get there for this Sunday, March 13, 2011 benefit from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.
