Cupcakes in the water on CupcakeCamp Seattle poster by Cakespy

CupcakeCamp Seattle is coming up on Sunday, April 17th, and I'm flying out for it! I can't wait...and here is the adorable poster by our friend Jessie Oleson of Cakespy, which will be for sale at CupcakeCamp. Also, Jessie's book is available for pre-order on Amazon, and her shop, Cakespy Shop, is at the top of my list of places to visit in Seattle (along with the Experience Music Project's Nirvana exhibit - is anyone making Nirvana cupcakes? If so, let us know!). Click here for all the details about the event, how to enter your cupcakes, etc. I've sampled my share of Seattle cupcakes but I know I haven't had them all, so I'm looking forward to meeting local bakers and stuffing my face there, especially because Passover starts the next week and I won't be eating cupcakes for a little while.

The concept for Cupcake Camp originated in San Francisco and promotes a true spirit of community and sharing, and Cupcake Camps now happen around the world and come in a wide variety of flavors and sizes. The most essential feature of a Cupcake Camp is that it brings together people to share their love of cupcakes!

Cupcake Camp Seattle is presented by Bella Cupcake Couture as a delicious celebration of this small coveted treat. Completely volunteer run and organized in an open and participatory manner, our first Cupcake Camp Seattle raises funds for Hope Heart Institute.

The Hope Heart Institute was founded in 1959 for the purpose of researching reconstructive cardiovascular medicine and their accomplishments include the world’s first successful experimental Coronary Artery Bypass Graft. You may ask if eating cupcakes and a healthy heart go together. Following the rule that sweet treats should be enjoyed in moderation; cupcakes can be the perfect petite indulgence to fulfill ones sweet tooth craving. A little bit of love can make a big difference and everything tastes better when shared.
