The third annual Gardiner Cupcake Festival Sunday will feature cupcakes of every size and shape from 14 vendors, including Moxie Cupcakes, Deisings Bakery, Wright's Farm and Bettie's Cakes.
Organized by a group of Main Street business owners called the Main Street Gang, the Cupcake Festival has increased in size and popularity since its inception, said Jodi Whitehead, spokeswoman and owner of the Gardiner-based Uptown Attic Consignment Boutique.
The "Gang" consists of Whitehead; Heidi Hill-Haddard, HiHo Home Market owner; Robin Hayes, owner of Enthusiastic Wine and Spirits; Lori Willow, owner of Willow Realty; and Colleen Rifkind, Tiger Lily Jewelers owner.
"The idea to have the festival was to bring awareness to Main Street and Gardiner, and the businesses that exist in Gardiner," Whitehead said. "It's a little town with a lot to offer. We wanted to have an old-fashioned block party, but we wanted to have something sweet and cute."
