Nonpareil Cupcakes

I was waiting on the trolley the other day and remembered I had a box of Sno-Caps in my bag. Then inspiration struck: a Sno-Cap cupcake.

Sno-Caps are one of my favorite candies (not quite up there with Swedish Fish though) and was always my go-to movie candy growing up. I also really enjoy the high quality versions that you can get in chocolate shops, but I've never turned my nose up to a box of cheap Sno-Caps.

And now, I can transform them into cupcakes!

It's my favorite chocolate cupcake recipe dipped in chocolate ganache and then rolled in nonpareils (I found mine at AC Moore). You can use your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe if you already have one, just make sure they are totally cooled before dipping in the ganache. Let the ganache set for 5-10 minutes before rolling in the nonpareils.

Nonpareil Cupcakes

Bake your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe (mine can be found here). Dip cupcakes in ganache (recipe here) and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes before rolling in nonpareils (I used 3oz of nonpareils). They will keep in the freezer until you are ready to serve and that will also let the ganache firm up like a chocolate nonpareil candy.

Note for my cupcake recipe: they don't rise much so after they chill a bit you'll want to remove the liner from them (unless you're okay with dipping some of the liner in the ganache). If you remove liner, just drop them in a clean liner after you dip and decorate or serve unwrapped.
