My trip to Carlo's Bakery

People-- I have finally made it to Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, NJ where the CAKE BOSS is!!!!

This is a big deal to me, as I am a fan of Buddy Valastro and I do watch the show AND I've tried to get to this bakery for awhile now!!!

My sister and I ordered a cookie, a napoleon, a carrot cupcake, and a red velvet cupcake. 

Everything was so good! The red velvet cake was a little dry (sorry, Buddy!) but the frosting was buttercream and very sweet and tasty. The red velvet with buttercream was the "most popular cupcake asked for" as per the guy at the counter. The carrot cake was very moist with cream cheese frosting. The napoleon was, well, in a word: superb. I love me some napoleon and I've had a lot--that's usually my go to dessert at any and all bakeries. Flaky pastry, fluffy sweet cream, and sugar topping= I was a very happy girl. 

It was very very very crowded inside but we managed to get some pictures of some other cupcakes and desserts:

They also had a ton of cakes, tarts, cookies, pies, doughnuts--you name it!!!

We didn't get to see Buddy himself, but we did hear that 2 of the sisters (Grace and Madeline) were upstairs but we didn't get to see them either. Boo! But it was still a great trip!!
