Celebrate Chinese New Year by making your own dragon cupcake cake! You can find out how to make this in the new cookbook Cupcakes, Cookies & Pie, Oh My! by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson, which will be out January 31st (so it won't exactly fall on Chinese New Year, which is today, January 23rd) and is full of some amazing cupcake creations. You'll have to get the book to find out exactly how to make this dragon, but I can tell you that some of the ingredients are an wafer cup ice cream cone for the head of the dragon, mini breakfast treat cookies, black licorice laces, Necco wafers, M&Ms and 19 cupcakes! Pretty impressive. I'm not sure if the eyes or the teeth are my favorite, though teeth on edible animals always wow me.
As you very likely know, they're also the authors of Hello, Cupcake! and What's New, Cupcake?. The new book has lots of extremely fun treats that will wow you and would make any party attendee smile. And they tweeted from @whatsnewcupcake that soon there will be a Hello, Cupcake! app for your phone!
