Behind the Scenes at Prohibition Bakery, In the Kitchen

I am always curious to see bakeries in action, and getting a chance to check in with Brooke and Leslie of Prohibition Bakery was an interesting experience. They, like many NYC cupcakeries, bake in a commercial kitchen, this one located on the Lower East Side.

Since they specialize in vice cupcakes, I saw a lot of booze standing by, and flowing:

For the new Southampton Spring cupcakes: Southampton Grand Cru ale, orange, coriander, and black radish!

The ladies were working hard (800 cupcakes hard) on a top-secret VIP party, which I was not allowed to name.

Now you tell me, is that a satisfied grin on Brooke's face or what??

A job well done.

Plus, I left with one of my all-time favorite cupcakes (now with new, improved pretzel topper):

SO good! Pretzels & beer cupcake mini, made with Nutella.

You can see the whole set of images here, and keep up with Prohibition Bakery on Facebook and Twitter.
