I'm heading to Williamsburg, Virginia this week, to attend this Williamsburg Inn anniversary dinner featuring cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake, so have been looking up local cupcake bakeries. I live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, home of Brooklyn Cupcakes and Cupcakeland, so I'm looking forward to visiting a different Williamsburg.
One of the local bakeries I plan to visit is Williamsburg Cupcake, located at 4917-A Courthouse Street. Here are some photos from their Facebook page, including Olympics cupcakes, which they'd posted were selling fast, Olympic torch ice cream cone cupcakes, and Oreo cupcakes with an entire Oreo on top, standing up tall. Their cupcake flavors include Banana Split ("banana cupcake with a fudge core topped with a cream cheese frosting, rainbow sprinkles, walnuts, a fudge drizzle and a cherry on top") Toffee Crunch ("chocolate cupcake with a caramel core topped with a cream cheese frosting, crushed heath bar and a caramel drizzle"), Lime In The Coconut ("Coconut lime cupcake topped with a lime buttercream frosting and fresh lime zest - cupcake and frosting made with fresh lime zest and juice"), Peyton's Fish Bait, shown below ("vanilla or chocolate cupcake topped with a vanilla cream cheese frosting, crushed Oreos, chocolate candy rocks and a gummy worm") and Mamaw's Banana Pudding ("banana cupcake baked with a vanilla wafer on the bottom filled with vanilla pudding and topped with a vanilla buttercream frosting, crushed vanilla wafers and a banana slice (Classic southern banana pudding in a cupcake"), among others. They can be reached at williamsburgcupcake at gmail.com or 757-603-6633.
