I stopped by Empire Cake in Chelsea today and bought a salted caramel cupcake ($2.75). It was very rich, and while you can't see all the oozing caramel in these photos, there was a lot. These cupcakes are kept in a refrigerated case and while in the past, some of them I've found too cold to eat immediately, this was perfect. The chocolate frosting is intense, and I mostly dug into the more salty than sweet caramel mixed with the cake. I recommend this one.
