More sad news to report. In fact, this news is very personally sad for me in particular. The Sweet Tooth is a cupcakery based just outside the Kansas City area in Blue Springs, MO, owned by some friends of mine. They have been on Cupcake Wars and even sent a cupcake to the edge of space. In July of 2013, they purchased my mobile cupcakery, 3 Girls Cupcakes and have since been selling products from both our businesses at their retail space and on the cruiser, which they just had beautifully wrapped last month. Sounds like the same thing that made me sell is now their own motivation: work/life balance. Their business is going gangbusters, as was ours, but hopefully someone will snatch it up soon and have the energy take it to the next level. They will close at the end of March if there are no new owners. Maybe there's even a chance they would split up the sale of their business between the retail location, the Cupcake Cruiser and/or the recipes and equipment (and maybe there's a chance I myself might be interested in buying back part of it myself!? - don't tell my husband).
