It's crazy to decamp further South in the summer, but I did it. I am in Savannah and my first stop was a visit to Back In The Day Bakery. I met the owners Cheryl and Griff Day who were nominated for James Beard award for their cookbook, Back In The Day Bakery. Their second cookbook was released this past spring, Back in the Day Bakery Made with Love.
I had a Pink Lady cupcake, a lavender shortbread cookie and a Cheryl brownie. The cupcake I ate quickly before I pulled out the camera, so there's only a photo of the cupcake liner.
I will be back for lunch as they do sandwiches, too.
