Cupcakes for a Cause helping CancerCare for Kids all this week

If you didn't already know, it's Cupcakes for a Cause week, and tons of bakeries are participating. Last year's raised $120,000 for CancerCare for Kids. There are 350 bakeries participating this year; find one near you here. You don't have to buy anything to donate either; you can send a cupcake e-card and/or become a fan of 1-800-Flowers on Facebook and $1 will be donated (up to $1,000).

Here's what your donations are going towards:

CancerCare for Kids is a very distinct program that focuses on a child coping with a cancer diagnosis, either a close loved one or their own. We know from our clinical experience and research that help for children coping with cancer makes a big difference. CancerCare's professionally trained social workers offer counseling, other social services and recreational programs to children and their parents to help them manage this difficult situation and to feel less alone.

Here's our friend Matt Lewis, co-owner of Red Hook and Charleston bakery Baked, who attended our charity bake sale on Saturday, in a Cupcakes for a Cause video:

Bakeries: Send us your Cupcakes for a Cause photos to cupcakestakethecake at gmail.com for a roundup post later this week. Please let us know the flavors and any other details that are relevant.
