I can't find a website for this place but it sounds good! If you've tried their cupcakes or have any news, let us know.
"Designing the perfect cupcake," The Burbank Leader
Frosting-covered rows of cupcakes were neatly lined on shelves like sugary soldiers Monday afternoon at downtown Burbank’s newest bakery.
In precision formation they sat with sprinkles, tiny chocolate balls and ripened fruits crowning their tops in the lobby of Cupcakes & Co., a family-run shop specializing in designer cupcakes.
“We’re trying to do some unique flavors so it’s not always the traditional thing,” said Maryanne Tongko, president of Cupcakes & Co. and daughter of head chef Cynthia Tongko, who opened the business on Saturday.
The small confections behind clear glass in the front of the newly designed and opened shop on East Magnolia Boulevard are all originals made by Cynthia Tongko.
Even though they deal almost exclusively in cupcakes, the idea for the shop came from the family’s signature Dutch apple pie, which they served to high demand at their Sunland restaurant, Prism Bistro, for years.
“This bake shop really stemmed from that,” Maryanne Tongko said.
Diners were so enamored of the buttery, made-from- scratch pie, Cynthia Tongko decided to close the restaurant and focus on sweets full time.
By housing a rotating menu of 23 kinds of cupcakes with no added preservatives and all fresh, natural ingredients, Cynthia Tongko hopes to keep the selection from getting stale.

Flavors tried: carrot cake, wicked chocolate, red velvet (with raspberry frosting), strawberry cheesecake, and something purple made with an asian root vegetable. The favors are solid, and most of the cupcakes are ornate and very rich, leading to the $3.00 plus price tag.
The cupcakes are average size, with a fair ratio of frosting to cake. In fact, these cupcake are more like individual pieces of cake than a traditional cupcake.
I'd like to see a few more flavor options. If I return, I may try the green tea or the individual cup-pie (apple).
For the next cupcake fix, I will have to return to Yummy's. Simple cupcakes with twists/updates that are lighter and more cupcake-y.
though it doesnt seem like its up and running quite yet.
i personally preferred their cupcakes over yummy's.
Would not go back though, I prefer Auntie Em's or Yummy's.
Shame, I really wanted to like this place since it's close to the movie theater. :(
I only tried the vanilla and chocolate because the other flavors did not look appetizing at all. I mean, call me unoriginal, but I prefer my red velvet the old fashioned way with CREAM CHEESE FROSTING! The chocolate was nothing special, and the vanilla cake was so dry I could hardly swallow it without water. Plus it was filled with some mystery filling that was unsettling.
I was told that everything was made with real butter but I find that EXTREMLY hard to beleive because when I bit into the vanilla frosting all I tasted was sugary shortening. I couldn't even finish it.
Maybe it just a bad day at the Cupcake Co. but I'm sticking with Yummy Cupcakes up the street. I prefer their cupcakes any day...plus they have better parking and are better priced.
