Organizer Ariel Waldman tells us there are slated to be close to 1,500 cupcakes this Sunday at CupcakeCamp in San Francisco! Can you believe it? And because my life is in constant rotation, I am now attending, doing a whirlwind San Francisco visit where I arrive Saturday at 1:05 p.m. and leave Sunday night at 11:10 p.m. (I highly recommend Virgin America, by the way.)
But other cities are totally getting in on the cupcake action! Open Source Cupcakes in Philadelphia organized their own version last month, Sydney, Australia, has one coming up in February, and now comes news about Toronto's CupcakeCamp event January 25th from 2 pm - 5 pm:
Labspace Studio (new location)
2A Pape Avenue
Toronto, Ontario M4M 2V6
Category: Other
Website: http://sweetmeup.com/cupcake-camp/
What is Cupcake Camp?
A first in Toronto (and north of the border), the camp provides an opportunity for cupcake lovers to gather and share cupcakes, recipes and their passion for those tiny little treats.
Ticket Info: $5.00
Why should I attend?
• Sample cupcakes and marvel at the creative and tasty designs
• Network with fellow bakers
• Get recipe ideas and suggestions (from both bakers and tasters!)
• Get advice on how to take your cupcake hobby to that next level from others who have made the successful leap to a small baking business
• If you’re a bride-to-be or just planning a special event, find that talented someone to provide your festivities with that sweet special something
Whatever your reason, we hope you’ll join us in celebrating these miniature confectionery classics!
And check out their Facebook group and cupcake photo gallery!
