Philadelphia cupcake truck opens: "Be there or be without cupcakes"

Philadelphia is the latest city to have a traveling cupcake truck, Buttercream. They've already given away some freebies and supplied cupcakes for the Cupcake Bandit Film Festival, but tomorrow they launch for real, and the local Twitterati and bloggers are excited.

As uwishunu Philly writes:

The besprinkled old-school mail truck turned cupcake eatery on wheels will be stacked with to-die-for treats in regular and jumbo size– from chocolate to yellow cake loaded with a variety of heavenly frostings, plus a surprise specialty cupcake. Come out and give your sweet tooth some extra lovin’ to get the weekend started right. You know you want to…

Or as the official Buttercream site states: "Be there or be without cupcakes." Gotta love such a direct message. Noon, Friday, August 28, Love Park, Philadelphia.

And lots of people are very eager to try Buttercream:

Buttercream also does catering, special orders (including vegan and gluten free), weddings, events and delivery. And their cake flavors include (there are more, see the site): gingerbread, spice, lemon, pumpkin and zucchini! Chocolate frosting on a zucchini cupcake sounds AWESOME to me. Frosting choices range from butter cream and whipped cream (in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or lemon) to cream cheese frosting, chocolate ganache and peanut butter! And they do mini cupcakes and giant cupcakes too. Regular cupcakes are $2/each.

Oh, and you can rent the truck for parties for $100/hour. How fun would that be?
